Hopefully you’ve already been recycling your toilet paper and paper towel rolls, but did ya ever think to reuse them? Me neither until I saw this great idea from our friends at Apartment Therapy that uses a glammed up toilet paper roll as an extension cord holder.

Can we say cute and totally smart? Plus, this is an easy craft project even I can’t mess up!

Love,
Tracey

Now I know I am trying to stave off flip flops this summer - but who could resist these puppies?

Made as a promotional tool for everyone’s favorite donut, Krispy Kreme (UK), these flops are made from real grass and are the first “living” flip flops! From the PR firm’s website:

Today sees the launch of the first (living) pair of grass flip flops - courtesy of client Krispy Kreme. Each shoe has over 5,000 blades of grass and, if regularly tended to and watered, can last for over four months. We’re giving them away to stressed out commuters so they can relax in their own mini-park. Bit of fun.

Kind of an odd pairing, but I love it!!

Love,
Tracey

Our very own Jenny Little (Community Manager at Delight.com) recently designed a notebook for Barnes & Noble, and we’re in love with it!

In collaboration with Savannah College of Art & Design (Jenny’s alma mater) Barnes & Noble has teamed up with the best and brightest of this amazing school’s graduates and collaborated on a bunch of really great desk accessories. Our favorite of course is Jenny’s Viking Ship ($9.95). The pattern flows over into the inside of the cover, and the flexi-bound notebook comes with 160 lined pages and an elastic band for easy carrying.

Happy writing!

Now HERE is a hybrid for ya! A crafty mechanic created this awesome bike/lawn-mower combo by fusing a pretty darn good-looking mountain bike to a good old-fashioned push mower. The result? Easy, gas-free mowing!

While this is clearly still in the “concept” phase, who know where the Mowercycle may take us…perhaps this will be the big thing next summer at your local Home Depot!

In my quest to get a bit more pretty this summer, I’ve devoted some serious weekend time to the pool (wearing my trusty & waterproof Bullforg Spray SPF 36, of course). I’m also trying to read more…you know, for fun. The problem is, my front side is getting quite brown, but my backside is not. Why? Because I HATE lying on my stomach! It’s not comfortable, and you can’t do anything…if you talk its out the side of your drooling mouth, if you read, the book either has to go too far away on the wet ground, or you have to prop yourself up - thus cutting off the circulation in your arms and ensuring a trip to the chiropractor for your neck.

That is why I am doing a little mid-summer dance of joy over discovering the Face Down PODillow ($30). Not necessarily the great thing to look at, (hey - neither are my thighs) but this padded pillow lets you lay face down comfortably and ergonomically, so you can get the back to match the front. Added bonus: it has two hidden storage containers for your iPod and cellphone!!

Tracey
